✈︎ Today’s World
In your memory bank
You’re doing vacations all wrong
Want to hold onto those vacation memories? Wonder why some stick in your mind while others are hard to recall? Save the travel orgasm for the end, science says so.
📉 Do you have a region/culture/language that you’re drawn to? I love anything Spanish; the language, the people, the colors, the culture. This transatlantic flight to Barcelona is a perfect way to use points to make a dream trip happen. Check out the points strategy below to make it happen along with a hotel for $0 and tada→ your nearly free vacation comences.
✈︎ Points + Miles
TOP STORY: The easiest way to earn +200K points (strategy included) …for $0
Geo and I recently booked a trip to Mexico City using entirely points. Well, I did everything and then I invited Geo along.
That’s right, no cash involved (aside from taxes/fees, less than $200).
And I want to help you be able to do the same. It’s ridiculously simple to earn more than enough points to book your own nearly free vacation. And it’s as cheap as it comes because this strategy involves a $0 annual fee credit card 🤯
Now, here’s what you do →
The elevated offer on this card will earn you $900 cash back (or 90,000 points) after you hit the minimum spend of $6k in 3 months. (The bank won’t let me name it here) but it’s in Geo’s wallet and now soon to be in mine!
Then, if you refer someone to your new card (like your spouse, travel partner, child) you get 20k in points and they’ll get 90k.
Because this card earns 1.5x on ALL purchases, once you both hit your minimum spend, you’ve secured 218,000 points combined.
🎉 Celebrate 🎉
Now the fun part→ here’s what I would do with +200,000 points
Spring in Spain offers perfect weather for exploring iconic cities like Barcelona and Seville—without the summer tourist rush. Si, por favor!
Virgin Air to Spain is one of the cheapest ways to fly to Europe
Next up, accommodations. And this beautiful spot will cost $0 dollars total. That’s a savings of $290/night, excuse me, what?!
In all honesty, you could substitute so many other countries with this amount of points- the world is your oyster!
It’s not often we see a $0 annual fee credit card come with an elevated offer like this.
It still blows my mind that we take entire vacations for pennies on the dollar just by strategizing points + miles.

✈︎ Life Beyond The Grind
What comes with ‘opting out’ and why we’re saying yes
Once we spent a year living in a van, traveling the US, Mexico and Belize. About 5 months into that time, we found ourselves parked in the backyard of a local Mexican family with a couple of other traveling folks. On the final evening before we departed, Geo and I looked at each other and promised:
“Whenever we return home, back to our regular life in our suburban hometown, we won’t let ourselves forget that people are out here in the world, doing it differently.”
My adult life has been a constant struggle to fit into the mold. For as long as I can remember, there has been this persistent feeling that the 'normal' path isn’t quite right.
Keep the job because of the benefits, send the kids to school all the while my gut tells me it’s not the right environment, be the homemaker and fill the house with all of our “needs” even though I don’t find joy in it.
All of these things dim my light.
And yet, I’m wondering why is there no one else looking around and doing things differently. Are they feeling the same way I’m feeling? Or are they content somehow while I’m struggling?
When we decided to leave our jobs this year, it wasn’t because we didn’t want to work anymore.
It was because our days turned into weeks, weeks into months and before we knew it everything just sorta blurred together.
And the biggest fear I ruminate on is a life where I’ve buried my head, silenced my gut and stayed the course.
So with that in mind, we are prepping for a big move overseas→ I’ll fill you in on location soon!
We can’t wait to keep you updated in the coming weeks and months with all the details as we wade our way through this adventure!
✈︎ Travel News
Global entry fee to increase 20%, but kids will be FREE
The application fee for a five-year Global Entry membership is currently $100 and also provides TSA PreCheck access, but the fee will increase to $120 on October 1. However, don’t jump the gun too soon: If you have children you plan to enroll, you might benefit from waiting as kids will be free starting Oct. 1. This increase will be null and void however if you carry a travel credit card that offers a statement credit on global entry → like this card or this card!
Electronic warfare spooks airlines, pilots and air safety officials
Hundred of civilian airline pilots are encountering something new: GPS spoofing. These fake signals are used by the military to ward off drones and missiles, primarily over conflict zones, however they are permeating into a large number of international passenger flights. These GPS interferences are primarily for aircrafts flying over the middle east, Russia, and the Black Sea.
